Stavo is a band that moves beyond the 90's hard rock it plays, stylistically and actually. To have it make sense, you'd have to add a few more years to the celebrated decade — like, say, 19911 or 19912. And even then it would be hard to paint this band accurately — which works fine for this enigmatic outfit. The music on the band's debut EP, "Everything in Between," sheds some light on where the EP is coming from and where it's going. Primarily, there's the dichotomy between Sharon Kaplun's vocals and Dan Staversky's guitar that gets it all underway and maintains its speed. The whole band flies melodically in the face of its own pending weight. Stavo moves flawlessly, effortlessly, and fine. A good first effort. Strong.

So....what in the world is this album all about?

What will it sound like?

And why a concept album?

The story introduces a character named "Indigo". She is trapped in present day Corporate America, in a city she doesn't know, a job she doesn't like and a path that wasn't meant for her.

While struggling through long, stress filled Corporate job dog days, she slowly discovers, and begins to realize, that she is what some call a "Starseed". What is a Starseed, you ask? Well, we will get into more detail in subsequent posts, but the long of the short is, they are beings reincarnated on 3D Earth sent here to propel the ascension...

Yep, you read that correctly, STAVO is writing a concept album scheduled to be released in late spring/early summer 2020.

FROM DAN: "The storyline is basically about a main character struggling with, and eventually conquering, the trials and tribulations of life.  If you like Pink Floyd's he Wall, Rush's 2112, Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime and Dream Theater's Metropolis Part 2, we think you'll like this, too."

The band hit the road again in the fall with Rock legends Pat Travers and The Vanilla Fudge.  The tour started in Buffalo, NY and stretched all the way to Port Barrington, IL.  Check out the 'Tour' link or follow the band on Bandsintown to see when they'll be in your neck of the woods.

FROM DAN: "We are pleased to announce that our first "real" music video has been released.  We chose the song 'Spin The Wheels' because we felt it best encapsulated our story, as well as the story of so many others who are trapped on the treadmill of life instead of pursuing the things they are most passionate about.  It's definitely not a high budget production, but it really captures what a live show is like.  As a matter of fact, this was shot at a show in our hometown of Rochester, NY and it was lead vocalist Sharon's very first gig with us!!  Enjoy!
